Hi! Welcome to 2003 in Bragaw Hall! My
name is Casey Blankenship, and I am the Residence Life Coordinator
(RLC) here in Bragaw. I am beginning my third year as Bragaw's
RLC. I moved to Raleigh in June of 2001 with my family - my
wife Tracy, my daughter Macy (who begins kindergarten this
year), and my son Casey II (who will be three in October).
Both Tracy and I grew up in Colonial Heights, Virginia, about
two hours north of here. I earned both of my degrees - a Bachelor
of Science in Communications and a Master of Education in College
Student Personnel Administration - from James Madison University
in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Prior to coming to State, I worked
for two years at the University of New Hampshire, and I spent
three years at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia.
I've also spent time living in Stillwater, Oklahoma and Anchorage,
Alaska.
I love sports - I'm a fan of the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Braves, Detroit
Pistons, and the hometown Carolina Hurricanes (although grudgingly so, since
I was a big fan of the Hartford Whalers before they moved here). In college
sports, I root for JMU of course, and I grew up a fan of the Virginia Cavaliers,
but I've switched my allegiance to the Wolfpack, especially when they play
Carolina.
I also enjoy movies and TV - in particular, I'm a huge fan
of the Star Wars movies. On TV I enjoy most of the original
stuff on HBO,
and sitcoms like "Everybody
Loves Raymond," "King of Queens," and "Will and Grace." But
most of all, I enjoy working with college students. Please let
